Somewhere between a rousing game of putt-putt and a leisurely bike ride, it hits you: your idea of fun has totally changed since having kids. Activities of the good and clean variety once sounded lame, but now strangely they sound like a blast. It’s okay, it happens to the best of us.

For the ultimate in wholesome family fun, take a day trip out to Marburger Orchard. The Hill Country farm located just outside of Fredericksburg offers guests the chance to pick their own peaches, strawberries and blackberries. The best time for picking is NOW and this year’s crop of peaches is being hailed as the best in a decade. Bring cash and get there early for the best selection.

What to do with all the treasures that don’t get eaten on the car trip home? Bake home-made pies, of course.

You may have had this much fun with an excess of fruit before having kids, but back then it was fermented.
