Ideally, you’d love your kids’ lives to be rich with cultural experiences. So far, though, all they’ve really been exposed to is the kid’s quesadilla from Maudies and a couple episodes of Dora.
Bridge the gap with ABeCedarios, a delightfully colorful ABC book published by Cinco Puntos Press in El Paso. Kid’s books with Spanish and English text side-by-side are not uncommon, but this one has an extra treat: photos of animal carvings by a well-known family from Oaxaca, Mexico. These lovely and colorful creatures add a whimsical and captivating kind of charm to the book making it so fun that you hardly realize you’re learning along the way.
Sneaky, yes. But not quite as sneaky as a certain fox.
